Icelandic Farm Holiday

Take a closer look behind the scenes of an Icelandic farm with horses, which is located within one of the stunning fjords of North Iceland.

The farmhouse is located a few kilometres away from Grenivik, a little fishing village, where guests can unwind in the warm waters of a hot pool and soak up the sensational views.

The old farmhouse which is made of turf, provides a unique opportunity to become acquainted with the way people lived in earlier centuries. The awesome surrounding landscape is perfect for long walks, exploring the area on a bike or fishing in world famous waters.

Each day there are short riding tours taking in the fascinating landscape of Northern Iceland. During your stay you will visit Akureyri, the capital of the North and Goðafoss, a scenic waterfall. This farmhouse stay is ideal for families.

There is no detailed day-per-day description for the farm holidays.

In general there will be mainly 2 hours riding every day, then we also visit Akureyri and Goðafoss, the famous historic waterfall and Laufás the turfhouses, which are a museum today.

You can just go for a walk or have a look what we are doing around the horses, sheep and other animals. Take the opportunity to relax, or get hands on and muck in!

There may be sheep and new-born lambs around; in September and October - depending on the time and the weather - they will be are gathering their sheep together coming back from the mountains. People are welcome to join us for any kind of work.
