The Great Australian Outback Cattle Drive

Not to be missed. This incredible event only comes round once every two years. The Great Australian Outback Cattle Drive puts you in the saddle, herding five hundred head of cattle along the legendary Oodnadatta Track with some of Australia's finest horsemen.

You'll get a real taste of life as a drover as you take in the spectacular scenery from the sandy dunes and wide corridors bursting with native plants such as hopbush and horse mulga to following what remains of the original Ghan railway track. Whether you're an experienced rider, a happy hacker or a complete beginner, you'll be matched to a horse and a tour to suit your abilities.

Each evening you'll return to a village of superior tent accommodation with hot showers, a bar, superb catering and even a camp library. Enjoy a delicious meal in the marquee followed by stories of settlers around the roaring campfire where you can immerse yourself in the romance and adventure of Outback life. When dusk falls there's no better way to end your day than with a long cool drink under the desert stars.
